Our Farm

Welcome to Townend Farm, situated in the heart of the East Yorkshire countryside, is home of the Aylott family and their menagerie of pets – horses, chickens, peacocks, Admiral nelson, the turkey, cats and dogs.

Although no longer a working farm, Townend farm was once a pioneering farm and the brainchild of Samuel Fox, the inventor of the light steel umbrella frame.

Fox, who made his home the village of North Cliffe not only built the little church in North Cliffe but also a cluster of model farms, showcasing special design features which made these farm most productive of their time.

Hedley and Claudia Aylott moved into Townend Farm in 2006 and have created a special place to raise their children and pursue their love for polo – it is also home to the White Rose Polo Club.
